Things I’m Loving

It’s been a while so I thought I do a quick post on a few things I’m loving these days – today they are all beauty based! These products are all things I have found for my 40 something skin. Ahhhhh – I’m officially at the age where I’m looking specifically for products that nourish and hydrate my skin and lips. These have all passed my test!

Renergie Lift Multi-Action

I discovered this cream from Lancome when it was a gift with purchase. What a surprise it was! My skin is unfortunately really dry, even worse in the winter. This cream is light enough to use year round but powerful enough to really make a difference. I love how it makes my skin feel and I really love the scent.

Genifique Serum

Speaking of Lancome, I’ve been devoted to this serum for years and while I’m sometimes lazy about eye creams or masks, I never miss applying this to my face. I first decided to try it after  reading that Kate Middleton used it. I was noticing some sad forehead lines in the reflection of my iPad and I decided if it’s good enough for a princess, I want it on my face! I’ve been so happy with this serum and cannot imagine taking it out of my regular skin care routine.

Another find with a gift with purchase! Don’t you just love when a freebie turns into something you really love? I know I admitted earlier that I’m sometimes lazy with my skin care routine, but I have to say I really do love this mask. You apply it, leave it on for 15 minutes and then just rinse away. I have used this mask once a week for the last 3 weeks and I think it will be pretty easy to stay committed to this routine. (I usually put it on before a hot bath at night and let it do it’s work while I soak.)

buxom

Buxom Lip Pencil

Finally, I have to give a shout out to this new-to-me lip pencil by Buxom. I went hunting for a new lip color for spring and after testing several too pink, too brown, too matte too glossy options, one of the girls helping me recommended this lip pencil to me in Dolly Danger.  I love this color!  Even though it’s technically a lip pencil, it definitely stands alone and it does not dry my lips at all. And if I want a little shine I just put one of my glosses over it.

As a bonus, when I got home and wanted to share how much I loved it with a few product junkie friends, I looked it up and realized it’s intended to plump up your lips – hence the name. And I do think my lips look fuller when I use it! I would love to add a few more colors to my collection and at $17, that seems doable.

So there you have it – some of my favorite products. And while these finds mentioned today are all department store products, I’m definitely an equal opportunity girl when it comes to makeup and skincare. Next week, I’ll share some of my favorite drugstore finds.

*For what it’s worth, I have extremely sensitive skin and have had no problems with any of these products. I’m on the hunt for a good face oil for dry, sensitive skin so let me know in the comments if you have one to recommend!

  1. Hi Carrie ! I have loved all your tips so I thought I would share one too. I just started using this Clarins Face Oil/Serum about 3 months ago ( when I turned 40 and it was Winter) and it is AHHHMAZING. I too have sensitive skin and this has kept my hydrated and I feel like it helps with lines but maybe it’s just my imagination. I am not sure if this is like your Lancome product so you might not even need it. You can get it at the department store or Sephora. It’s not cheap but I love it!
